Michell Is committed to the production of natural wool fibre that is free of harmful chemicals and safe for both children and the environment. All Michell Carbonised, Scoured, Felted wool and Machine Washable wool products are tested and certified.
The use of harmful chemicals in consumer products has become an area of increasing concern and is gaining media attention worldwide. Consumers want to be informed about the chemicals they may be exposed to in their day-to-day lives as a result of the products they use. This concern has also extended itself to the fields of textiles, garments and home-textiles. To address this concern, the Oeko-Tex standards were launched in Europe in 1992.
The Oeko-Tex 100 label assures consumers that Michell products have been manufactured with a lower use of chemcials compared with traditional methods, therefore reducing health risks associated.
Every year, Michell are required to work closely with the International Oeko-Tex® Association to renew their wool certifications to ensure continuing quality. In addition, by making sure the products are cleaner, Michell are making sure the enviornment is cleaner. By sourcing Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, Michell are helping to reduce the amounts of these potentially harmful chemicals released into the environment.
